Retro TVThe boomer Generation (those who were born between 1943 and 1960) were the first to be influenced by broadcast video on a mass scale. They are heavy users of television. However, they are adopting the new video formats in record numbers. Gen-Xers, who are defined as the generation born between 1960 and 1981 are even heavier users of television and have been the driving force behind the various channels of distribution of video content in use today. They are very engaged with the new media choices and are adopting the new technologies like streaming web video using hand held mobile devices.

This leaves the Generation Y and Cyber-Gens, who were born after 1981 and  2001. These two groups are so in tune with video communication that it is hard to communicate with them in any other way. Mobile video and texting is almost second nature to these video consumers and it is hard to see where this channel of distribution will end. These two youngest groups are going to be impossible to reach without video, so If you want to be in business for the long haul, you need to plan on using video to a greater degree than ever before. In the words of the most famous of all video channels, "broadcast yourself."
